2016 Dallas Ft. Worth Schools Rated "Improvement Required" (Failing Schools)

In August 2016, the Texas Education Agency released school accountability ratings for the 2015-2016 school year. This is essentially a Pass/Fail rating system and the vast majority of schools in Texas pass. Next year the rating system will change. The schools will be given letter grades instead of a Pass/Fail rating.

Here is a list of Dallas-Ft. Worth area public and charter schools on the Fail/Needs Improvement list. Private schools are not rated.

Update 11/17/2016 -  Schools that appealed their failing status and won were removed from this list.

This is a list of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area high schools that appear in the 2016 U.S. News & World Reports list of best public high schools and their national ranking. U.S. News reviewed 21,000 public high schools in 50 states plus the District of Columbia. There were four steps used to determine which schools were best. The methodology changed slightly from years past. The steps ensured the schools served all students well regardless of demographic. Schools were also judged on college readiness based on the participation rate of AB/IB tests and how well the students did on the tests.
