2016 U.S. News & World Report Best High School Rankings - DFW area schools

This is a list of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area high schools that appear in the 2016 U.S. News & World Reports list of best public high schools and their national ranking. U.S. News reviewed 21,000 public high schools in 50 states plus the District of Columbia. There were four steps used to determine which schools were best. The methodology changed slightly from years past. The steps ensured the schools served all students well regardless of demographic. The new step considered graduation rates - how many of the 2010-2011 9th graders graduated four years later. Schools were also judged on college readiness based on the participation rate of AB/IB tests and how well the students did on the tests.

# tested - is the percent of students who participated taking the AB/IB tests
# passed - is the percent who passed the AB/IB tests
